Revised Design Sketches:


I changed my idea from last week for the first section of the motion graphic. Initially it was going to be more of a slideshow as the emojis slid by with their information. After trying that out in After Effects, I decided that it needed a little bit more (it ended up looking sort of empty). I started putting them into cards and decided it would be a fun idea to make a deck of cards for the most 10 popular emojis. Then sketched it out and decided they would sort of swoop in and then flip over. I began making the deck and now that the first one has been finished the rest should be quicker.


This week, I also spent a while trying to figure out what sort of color scheme I wanted to use throughout this project. I decided on a pair of font families to use, which are Nunito, as well as Nunito Sans.



Revised Schedule:


Week of Oct 10

  • Figure out necessities...

    • Typefaces.

    • Style – per section or overall 🤔

  • Make relevant graphics for the first infographic.


Week of Oct 17

  • Finalize static designs and motion pieces for the introduction and emoji frequency/popularity section.

  • First section should be completed by now. If not Thursday, then by Sunday latest.

  • Begin thumb nailing the next section… look at what you have already as well so that it matches or fits the theme of the second dataset

  • Begin the second piece,

  • Begin thumbnailing the third data set.


Week of Oct 24

  • Finish the third video.

  • Thumbnail the fourth section and begin / finish making it.

  • Thumbnail the 5th video and start on it.

  • Start on posters.

    • Figure out overall style.

    • begin production.


Week of Oct 31

  • Finish the 5th video.

  • Thumbnail the 6th video.

  • Finish it the 6th video.

  • Continue working on posters, should be mostly done.


Week of Nov 7

  • Final tweaks...

    • Video finalization…

    • Poster finalization.

    • Blog updated

  • Review based off of in-class crits.


Week of Nov 21

  • Prepare final presentation of the thesis.

  • Put everything together nicely and have it organized.


Week of Dec 5-11

  • Update the final blog and make sure everything looks as it should!
